# AppDataType

The Cogniscript type of an app input or output.

**Kind:** a string enum, used in responses.

## Values

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `"String"` | Text (`string`). |
| `"Integer"` | A whole number (`int`). |
| `"Decimal"` | A number that may have a fractional part (`decimal`). |
| `"Guid"` | A UUID (`guid`). |
| `"Bool"` | True or false (`bool`). |
| `"Date"` | A date and time (`date`). |
| `"JsonObject"` | A JSON object (`jsonObject`). |
| `"JsonArray"` | A JSON array (`jsonArray`). |

New values can appear, so treat one you don't know as "something else", not as an error.
