# AutomatedActionItem

One action of an automation: what it starts when triggered. Its id is how the automation's history says which action started a run.

**Kind:** an object, used in requests and responses. In a request it is called `AutomatedActionItemInput`.

## In a request

| `name` | `string \| null` |  | A name for the action. Optional. |
| `config` | [`ProcessStartConfigInput`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/process-start-config.md) | yes | What to start (or, for `interaction-message`, which interaction run to post to), with its settings. Constraints: required (empty or whitespace-only strings are rejected). |

## In a response

Every field is present in a response; empty ones are `null`.
