# BuildOutcome

How a recorded build attempt ended.

**Kind:** a string enum, used in responses.

## Values

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `"Succeeded"` | The build succeeded (and, for a deploy, was deployed): its log has no `Error` entry. |
| `"Failed"` | The build ran and failed, with a compile, reference or validation error in its log, or it failed unexpectedly (`isFaulted`). |
| `"Rejected"` | The request was refused before it could build (a 400 such as "nothing to build"); see `validationFailures`. |

New values can appear, so treat one you don't know as "something else", not as an error.
