# BuildRecordSource

The text of one source file of a recorded build, so the build can be re-opened or compared. It matches its `BuildRecordItem` by kind, name and file name.

**Kind:** an object, used in responses.

## Fields

Every field is present in a response; empty ones are `null`.

| `kind` | [`BuildRecordFileKind`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/build-record-file-kind.md) | Which part of the request the file was sent in. |
| `name` | `string` | The definition's name, as on the matching item. |
| `fileName` | `string \| null` | The file name the request gave; null for prompts and JSON files. |
| `content` | `string` | The file's text exactly as the server read it (lines joined with `\n`). |
