# ConnectorBindingInput

A run input whose value is written straight into a tool's calls, such as a customer id, so the model never sees or chooses it.

**Kind:** an object, used in requests and responses. In a request it is called `ConnectorBindingInputInput`.

## In a request

| `agentId` | `uuid \| null` |  | Only the participant filled by this agent gets the value. Null: every participant does. |
| `target` | `string` |  | Where the value goes: the name of the request body field (a nested field's names separated by `/`), or of the path or query parameter, as `type` says. |
| `defaultValue` | `string \| null` |  | The value used when a run does not give one. Null: none. |
| `type` | [`ConnectorBindingInputType`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/connector-binding-input-type.md) |  | What `target` names: a request body field, a query parameter or a path parameter. |
| `name` | `string` | yes | The input's name: a run gives the input's value under this name. Constraints: required (empty or whitespace-only strings are rejected). |
| `description` | `string \| null` |  | What the input is for, shown to whoever starts a run. Constraints: minLength: 1. |
| `isRequired` | `boolean` |  | Whether a run must give the input. A run started without a required input is refused. |

Every field is present in a response; empty ones are `null`.
