# ContractStatus

The state of a tenant's contract.

**Kind:** a string enum, used in responses.

## Values

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `"Active"` | In force. |
| `"Frozen"` | Dropped to Free when a renewal payment failed. Data over Free's limits is kept but read-only, and Free's shorter retention only starts once the freeze ends. A successful retry restores the paid tier. |
| `"Locked"` | Paused by a platform admin: nothing new starts until it's unlocked. |

New values can appear, so treat one you don't know as "something else", not as an error.
