# InteractionProcessContextToolResult

The result of a tool call. The result itself is usually kept apart from the run: read it with the run's tool-results call, by this item's `sequence`.

**Kind:** an object, used in responses.

## Fields

Every field is present in a response; empty ones are `null`.

| `toolCallId` | `string` | The `toolCallId` of the call this is the result of. |
| `result` | `string \| null` | The tool's result, when it is kept on the run. Null when it is kept apart (`toolResultId` is then set): read it by this item's `sequence` from the run's tool-results call. |
| `isError` | `boolean` | True when the result is an error: the call failed, or a person rejected it. |
| `toolResultId` | `uuid \| null` | The id of the result kept apart from the run. Null when `result` holds it. |
| `resultSize` | `integer \| null` | The size of the tool's whole result in bytes (UTF-8), before any shortening, so you can tell how large it is without reading it. May be null when `result` holds it. |
| `rejectionReason` | `string \| null` | The reason a person gave when they rejected this call (the result is then an error telling the agent not to try again). Null for an ordinary result. Show this rather than parsing the result text. |
| `sequence` | `integer` | The item's position in the run's conversation. Sort every item in `context` by it to read the conversation in order. |
| `author` | [`InteractionProcessContextAuthor`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/interaction-process-context-author.md) | Who wrote the item. |
| `date` | `datetime` | When the item was written (UTC). |
| `threadId` | `string \| null` | The conversation thread the item is on. Null is the main thread, the conversation the participants share. Every other thread belongs to one participant: `private:<participant>` (a managed agent's private conversation with its manager), `dispatch:<participant>:<id>` (one dispatch's working) and `question:<participant>:<id>` (how a participant reached its answer to a direct question). |
