# InteractionSystemPromptMode

How an interaction's own system prompts combine with the instructions Maitento gives every agent.

**Kind:** a string enum, used in requests and responses.

## Values

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `"AppendToDefault"` | They are added after Maitento's instructions. |
| `"OverwriteAll"` | They replace everything: the agent's prompt, Maitento's instructions and the list of tools. |
| `"OverwriteNonCritical"` | They replace Maitento's general guidance, keeping the agent's prompt, safety rules and tools. |

New values can appear, so treat one you don't know as "something else", not as an error.
