# PartitionCreateRequest

Creates a partition (a knowledge base), or a temporary partition for short-lived files.

**Kind:** an object, used in requests.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `name` | `string` | yes | The partition's name. Constraints: maxLength: 250, minLength: 5, required (empty or whitespace-only strings are rejected). |
| `isTemporary` | `boolean` |  | Create a temporary partition: its files are never indexed and are removed once they are `fileLifetimeHours` old. Cannot be changed once the partition exists. |
| `fileLifetimeHours` | `integer \| null` |  | A temporary partition's file lifetime, in hours; null is 24. Refused on an ordinary partition. Constraints: range: 1..720. |
