# PartitionEmbeddingProbeRequest

A test call: embeds one short text with `profile` using `credentials`, and reports what came back. Nothing is stored and no partition is involved. Use it to learn the width your own (custom) model produces, or to prove a key works before starting a re-index on it. It never uses Maitento's key.

**Kind:** an object, used in requests.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `profile` | [`PartitionEmbeddingProfileInput`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/partition-embedding-profile.md#in-a-request) | yes | The profile to test, validated exactly as a profile change is (a custom model must state its width). Constraints: required (empty or whitespace-only strings are rejected). |
| `credentials` | [`PartitionEmbeddingCredentialInput`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/partition-embedding-credential.md#in-a-request)`[]` | | The keys to test with, in priority order. At least one; the same rules apply as when setting a partition's keys. |

## Example

```json
{
  "profile": {
    "provider": "OpenAi",
    "model": "...",
    "dimensions": 0,
    "chunkSizeTokens": 0,
    "chunkOverlapTokens": 0,
    "custom": false
  },
  "credentials": [
    {
      "provider": "OpenAi",
      "apiKey": "...",
      "baseUrl": "...",
      "modelIdentifier": "...",
      "credentialId": "...",
      "priority": 0
    }
  ]
}
