# ThreadSeam

The visible seam a reframe leaves: what the thread said before, and why it changed, so you can trace how understanding moved.

**Kind:** an object, used in responses.

## Fields

Every field is present in a response; empty ones are `null`.

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `date` | `datetime` | When the thread was reframed (UTC). |
| `previousContent` | `string` | What the thread said before the reframe. |
| `previousWeight` | `number` | The thread's weight before the reframe. |
| `previousStrand` | [`ThreadStrand`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/thread-strand.md) | The thread's strand (warp or weft) before the reframe. |
| `reason` | `string` | Why it changed. |
| `acknowledgment` | `string \| null` | For a warp thread, or one made warp: the explicit acknowledgment that a foundation is being revised. |
| `by` | [`ThreadOrigin`](https://docs.maitento.com/reference/types/thread-origin.md) | Who reframed it, and from where. |
