# ToolResultTrimmingStyle

What a trimmed tool result becomes.

**Kind:** a string enum, used in requests and responses.

## Values

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `"Placeholder"` | The same replacement text for every result. |
| `"Digest"` | A digest of what was there: which tool was called, with what, how large the result was, and how it began. Made without a model call, so it costs nothing. |

New values can appear, so treat one you don't know as "something else", not as an error.
