# UsageStartedBy

What started a run.

**Kind:** a string enum, used in responses.

## Values

| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| `"User"` | A person or an API key (the run's creator). |
| `"Automation"` | An automation: its schedule, a message trigger or a manual trigger. |
| `"Parent"` | Another run (an app starting a child). |

New values can appear, so treat one you don't know as "something else", not as an error.
